WHAT IS CAPPED PRODUCT?

PRO SERIES 4.0 WITH CAP SHEET (948 Series)
All Paint Protection Film is manufactured with a clear polyethylene (PET) cap sheet.
The purpose of the cap sheet is to protect the self-healing coating until it polimerizes completely during the manufacturing process. This process gives the film a completely smooth surface, thus ensuring perfect gloss and a flawless surface.
948 Series roll products have the cap sheet still on.
Leaving the Cap Sheet on protects the film during storage, transportation and handling.
At NoChip™ we use only 948 Series Capped product to make all our pre-cut kits to ensure the highest quality end result.
We manually uncap the product, and inspect it prior to producing your kit.
The cap sheet must be removed from the film prior to installation on your vehicle.
If you order capped product by-the-foot, we will manually uncap the product in the process of measuring it out for you. We generally will do this for two reasons:
1. To inspect the product for top quality.
2. Because it can be difficult for you to uncap it yourself on-site without damanging the film, unless you have a large clean flat surface available to you.

PRO SERIES 4.0 WITHOUT CAP SHEET (960 Series)
All PPF is manufactured with a clear polyethylene (PET) cap sheet.
960 Series products have the cap sheet removed. It is simply 948 Series that has been uncapped at the factory before shipping.
Since the cap sheet needs to be removed from the film prior to installation, having it removed is a good thing. However, when the product is uncapped and rolled for an extended period of time, the product tends to develop Haze Bands, which is not a good thing.
Please be advised of the 3M Technical Bulletin on Haze Bands that can result from shipping and storage of uncapped rolled product.
At NoChip™ we use only capped product to make all our pre-cut kits to ensure you will have no issues with haze bands.
